Notes | This medal commemorated Nelson's victory over the French and Spanish at the Battle of Trafalgar. It was engraved by Boulton's leading medallist Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, a Flemish artist who worked for the Soho Mint from 1793 until 1810. Over 14,000 of the Trafalgar medals were produced, entirely at Boulton's own expense, to be presented to all the seamen who had taken part in the battle. | Presented by The Misses Long, 1878. |
