A single photogravure, from a leather bound portfolio of 91 photogravures of original paintings. The folio is signed by Edward Burne-Jones' son, Philip. It is one of an edition 200.
The original watercolour from which this photogravure was taken dates from 1863. It was destroyed during an air-raid in world war two. In 2008 a second version of the watercolour painted in c.1866 was sold at Sotheby's (July 15th).
There are thirty seven studies and sketches in Birmingham's collection, connected to the painting.
