Notes

\sl240\slmult0This half-length nude with her head in profile to the right and her right arm raised is possibly related to outline sketches Brown made for the painting 'Chaucer at the Court of Edward III' (1851, oil on canvas, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney). There is no woman in this pose in any compositional studies or the final painting but the model is possibly same woman who appears in other outline sketches for the picture made in the same year on similar paper (1906P768, 1906P775 and 1906P776).
