According to Sewter, this particular panel was executed specifically for the Foreign Fair Exhibition, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1883 by Morris & Co. It is a variation on a similar window executed 1872-73 for the Vyner Memorial Window in the Lady Chapel of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.

The cartoon for this stained glass panel appears in the Morris & Co Windows Book, 1940P604.1, as number 104, and dates from 1872.

Bequeathed by James Richardson Holliday, 1927.
