From a bound volume containing 86 studies for illustrations to 'The Story of Cupid and Psyche' made to accompany the poem in William Morris' 'The Earthly Paradise'.

The final wood engraving is like the study on the lower right, which is set inside a room, with a panelled floor. However, Cerberus is fully inside rather than framed in the doorway. The design is reversed in the wood engraved print.
