George Warren Blackham lived in Hunters Lane, Birmingham, and is known for his watercolour views of the Birmingham area. His exact dates are unknown, although he figured in the local directory of 1876, and exhibited 41 paintings at the RBSA between 1870 and 1900.Subjects included Birmingham street scenes, landscapes, rural scenes and genre subjects. This view shows houses and industrial premises at Hockley Hill, near present-day Hockley flyover.
