Notes

This gold ecclesiastic ring is set with cabochon cut sapphire. The triangular shank is inscribed 'In manus tuas Domine commendo spiritum meum in cri'. This translates as 'into thy hands I commend my spirit', the last words spoken by Jesus.

Bequeathed by Thomas George Barnett, 1935.
