David Cox was one of the leading landscape painters of the nineteenth century. He held a deep affection for Wales. In his later career he created many paintings of the Welsh landscape, he also did many observational drawings of urban and rural architecture.

Presented by J Leslie Wright1953, received on his death, 1954.
