Notes

Rowlandson made numerous designs of college scenes at both Oxford and Cambridge. Although the architecture is depicted in some detail, Rowlandson i, more interested in the figures. The drawing compares the rather staid tutors of the university with the vivacious and curvaceous young women.

Presented by J Leslie Wright1953, received on his death, 1954.
