Artist:William Callow - View biography for William Callow

Notes

By the time he put his signature and date on this drawing, the ninety-three year old Callow had outlived several generations of watercolourists and witnessed several cycles of change in the art of landscape watercolours. Through long years of exhibiting with the Old Watercolour Society, his contributions may have seemed too familiar to require much comment but they were always recognised as being well crafted and appealing.

Presented by James Leslie Wright, 1953.
