Bingley Hall, in the grounds of the old Bingley House, Broad Street, Birmingham, was opened in 1860 as an exhibition centre. Iron columns, surplus to the requirements of Euston Station, were used in its construction and it was capable of holding up to 25,000 people. It was principally used for agricultural and trade shows, one of which was attended by the Prince of Wales in 1926. Unfortunately it was burned down in 1983, and was eventually replaced by the International Convention Centre. |
