Notes

The Pinto Collection includes a number of interesting antique scientific and medical instruments. This object is called an 'auroscope specula', sometimes referred to as an otoscope. The finely turned ebony case with screw-on lid contains two graduated silver funnels, used to examine the inside of the ear.
