Notes

Mottled blue glazed earthenware button with thinly glazed back and self-shank. The button is unmarked but may have been made at the Ruskin Pottery of Smethwick near Birmingham. W Hudson Taylor from 1898 to 1935 operated the pottery and the impressed 'Ruskin' mark was used from about 1904.
