Notes

Myra Bunce was the elder sister of Kate Bunce (1856-1927) and the daughter of John Thackray Bunce, editor of the Birmingham Daily Post, and chairman of the School of Art Management Committee. The Bunce family was one of Birmingham's most prominent artistic families of the late Victorian/Edwardian period. She designed the frames for her sister's paintings (see Melody) and also made jewellery. The Museum purchased a sketchbook of watercolour and pencil sketches of North Wales and Bournemouth 1875-1877 in 2001. This watercolour has been attributed to Kate Bunce in the past but has been attributed to Myra Bunce by Pamela Gerrish Nunn.

Purchased from Mr Adams, 1977.
