Notes

Alison Britton's early work consisted of tiles with drawn decoration. These developed into three-dimensional slab-built jug forms decorated with narrative drawings. This complex form explores the idea of a jug as a functional container. 'Its surface treatment represents a period of transition in Britton's work between pots that have representational images and those with abstract patterns or gestural marks'.

Presented by West Midlands Arts.
