Notes

Mrs Anne Hull Grundy donated a large collection of jewellery to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. This was one of a number of donations she made to museums in this country. She was concerned that each collection she gave to a museum should suit its manufacturing history and existing collection. She also wished to present examples of work not represented in our collections, such as this brooch by Lalique.Rene Lalique (1860-1945) studied in Paris and London, founding his own jewellery workshop in Paris in 1885. He is most well known for his Art Nouveau and Art Deco glassware.

Presented by Mrs Anne Hull Grundy, 1981.
