Notes

The Honduras mahogany and the Nigerian mahogany come from two different species of trees, but their wood has many similarities. The Honduran mahogany is a hardwood which grows throughout central and south America . It was the principal mahogany used in the 18th century and its particular colour and grain made it an ideal choice for cabinet makers and carpenters.
Nigerian mahogany is the finest grained of the African mahoganies. It has a much coarser grain and is therefore not as widely used for high quality and fine carpentry work.
