Notes | The English oak is probably the best known of all our native hardwoods. It produces a wood which is both versatile and durable and is used to make a wide range of items from buildings to barrels. The wood is very hard which makes it good for structural work, while the fine figuring or markings in the grain can produce delicate veneers for decorative pieces. | |
