Notes

Lockwood sketched and painted both rural and urban landscapes. He sketched mainly on location but occasionally from photographs. Once he found a subject he liked he would often paint many different views. This is helpful to the historian as it can give a more three-dimensional idea of what a building or site looked like, especially when the building does not exist anymore.

Presented by Arthur Lockwood and Jean Barnsby.
