Like Yardley Lockwood produced a series of views of Kings Norton Church. Saturday 2nd July 1949'Another lovely day - Arthur and I went to Kings Norton where I started a sketch of the church and houses near it. Arthur did a sketch of the old school...'.Sunday 3rd July1949'I went to KN again - drew another version of the same view - only very slightly different. In the aft. Did a bit more painting on the sketch stared yesterday'Sunday 10th July 1949'To Kings Norton in the morning to start the church subject with a morning light'.Tuesday 29th 1955'A pleasant day - after one or two unsettled days I had ½ day and used it to continue my sketch of Kings Norton church - for a Christmas card'. Extracts from the diaries of Frank Taylor Lockwood.The Church of Kings Norton was founded during the Norman period and appears in documents from 1213 onwards. The tower and spire, which is 18ft high was added between 1446 and 1475.
