Notes | In World War One (1914-18) the National War Saving Committee raised money for the war effort though the Tank Bank scheme. Battle field tanks were exhibited in cities and towns to promote and sell war bonds to the public. Birmingham was the highest municipal contributor to Tank Bank Week just beating Manchester. The prize was a commemorative tank which went on display in Calthorpe Park. | | Presented by Arthur Lockwood and Jean Barnsby, 1995. |
