Notes | The Normans between 1000-20 c built the original Tower and Nave. All that remains now is the base of the Tower, a doorway and the pillars at the Chancel opening. Around 1200-1214 the Chancel was added. Over 100 years later the South Aisle was added. In the 17th century the Porch was built and was used by the Church council for meetings. The Great Stone Inn is one of the oldest licensed houses in Birmingham. The boulder that can be seen on the corner of the pub has now has been moved to the pond next to the church. These boulders are a natural feature deposited by the Ice Age. | | Presented by Arthur Lockwood and Jean Barnsby. |
