Notes | This watercolour is one of twenty-eight drawings contained in a bound volume, presented by the artist, Elizabeth Jane Hasluck, to her son Ernest for Christmas in 1885. The majority of the views depict the Austins in Handsworth, the family home of the Haslucks at the time. There are two similar volumes of artwork by Elizabeth Jane Hasluck in the collections, one of which was presented to Daniel Sidney Hasluck, another family member. The Austins was sold to Sandwell Park Colliery around the end of the nineteenth century, and was demolished around 1930. | |
