Notes | Sara Radstone trained at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts in the late 1970s. This piece was made by reusing sections of unsuccessful, broken-up vessels: 'In 1987 I was moving (towards) looking more closely at what associations and metaphors the container could carry. I was focusing on other vessels such as boats, coffins, caskets and more peripherally the body. This particular pot was a somewhat extreme example at the end of a process/series exploring a canoe-like shape as a literal base to work from'. | | On loan from The Keatley Trust. |
