Notes | Sir Hubert von Herkomer is best known as a painter and printmaker. Birmingham's collection contains an oil painting, a watercolour and several prints by him. It is thought that this bracelet, depicting a portrait of the Herkomer both as a young boy and as a man, was commissioned by him as a gift to his second wife Lulu, whom he married in 1884.
