Notes | This little piece comes from the more exotic shores of numismatics. It is a brothel token from Cap d’Ail in France and dates to the late 19th century. 'Good for entry to Paradise', it also promises 'Discretion' and 'Security'. Very little has been written about tokens like this, but it seems probable that most were used for advertising in some way rather than for pre-payment of services!
