EducationTeeside College of Art, Foundation Course, 1972; Loughborough College of Art, BA Silversmithing & Jewellery, 1975; Royal College of Art, MA RCA Silversmithing and Jewellery. AwardsThe Freedom of the Company of Goldsmiths of the City of London, 2001. EmploymentSilversmith, who whilst at the Royal College 'discovered' a metalworking technique known as 'mokumé gane'. A technique used by the Japanese as early as as 300 years ago. In 1978 he visited Japan to gain more knowledge of the method. He is now recognised as a master of mokumé gane. He has exhibited his work extensively in the United Kingdom, Europe and the USA.
