Biography for Angus Suttie

Nationality:British (Scottish)
Born:1946 - Tealing, Scotland


Initially interested in drama, Suttie eventually enrolled at Camberwell School of Art, London (1970s) , he trained with Glennys Barton (b.1944) and Ewen Henderson (1934-2000) amoungst others; he also completed teacher training, Whitelands College, Putney, London (1979-80)


Suttie's early work was in earthenware, then he turned to stoneware, returning to earthenware in 1986.
He worked as both a studio potter and ceramics teacher. Colourful decoration was an important part of his pottery, achieved by using a combination of slips, overlaid glazes, and sometimes lustres or enamels.
