Biography for Orazio Gentileschi

Gentileschi's first followed his father becoming a goldsmith. He started to paint in his early twenties, by the 1570s -1580s he was painting figures in another artist's landscape frescoes in Roman churches. During the early 1600s Gentileschi was influenced by Caravaggio's (1571-1610) naturalistic style. In 1626 he became court painter to King Charles I of England
