Biography for Richard Eurich
EducationEurich attended Bradford School for Arts and Crafts, 1922-24, then the Slade School, London 1924-27. MemberAssociate of the Royal Academy, 1947, Royal Academician 1953. AwardsOrder of the British Empire, 1984. EmploymentEurich's first one-man show was held in 1929. He came to national attention in 1940 when he worked as an Offical War Artist to the Admirality. Between 1949-67 he taught at Camberwell School of Art, London. Up until his death he was regarded as one of Britians most prominent figurative artists. Though he was best know for his marine subjects, his works also include a large amount of landscape painting in particular of the Pennines.
