Biography for Terry Frost
EducationEvening classes at the Birmingham College of Art; St Ives School of Art; Camberwell School of Art,1950s. MemberPenwith Society; London Group. EmploymentFrost was encouraged to paint after meeting Adrian Heath, whilst a prisoner of war. He moved to St Ives in the 1950s where became an assistant to Barbara Hepworth. He taught at the Bath Academy and also at the San Jose University in California. He was made a Gregory Fellow at Leeds University and a fellow at Newcastle University. He taught at Reading University between 1964 and 1981 and was a professor here. On his retirement he was made a Professor Emeritus and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Law in 1977 by the CNAA.
