Notes

Mourning or memento mori rings were often bequeathed in wills to close friends and family to be worn at the funeral and as a reminder to the wearer of the departed.This ring is decorated with hairwork made from the hair of the deceased. It is dedicated to Elizabeth Tyndall who died on 6th December 1769 at the age of 3 years.
