Mourning, or memento mori, rings were often bequeathed in wills to close friends and family to be worn at the funeral and as a reminder to the wearer of the departed.This ring is decorated with a medallion depicting the figure of Hope encouraging a grieving woman.

Bequeathed by Mrs Christina Feeney, 1928.
