Notes | Mrs Anne Hull Grundy donated a large collection of jewellery to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. This was one of a number of donations she made to museums in this country. She was concerned that each collection she gave to a museum should suit its manufacturing history and existing collection. She also wished to present examples of work not represented in our collections, such as this brooch by Lalique.Rene Lalique (1860-1945) studied in Paris and London, founding his own jewellery workshop in Paris in 1885. He is most well known for his Art Nouveau and Art Deco glassware. | | Presented by Mrs Anne Hull Grundy, 1981. |
