Alexander Beleschenko has gained an international reputation for his monumental stained galss paintings that are often commissioned for new architectural projects. This particular design was made for a stained galss window that was commissioned for the International Convention Centre in Birmingham and installed in 1991.Nature has always been the artist's source of inspiration. In describing his glass designs he has said that 'rather than being descriptive they are evocative' of nature. Like much of his work, this design contains rhythmic passages of shapes and tonal graduations of colour that generate a sense of movement.

Acquired as part of a public art commission for the city, 1991.
