Dagger

People did not stop using flint at the end of the stone age. It was such a useful and versatile material that it was still commonly used even after metalworking had been discovered.In the case of this finely flaked dagger the flint knapper (the maker) has copied the design of a bronze dagger. The fish-tail terminal of the tang imitates the pommel of contemporary bronze daggers. This type of flint dagger is typical of Denmark.
