Notes | An unusual, articulated teddy bear made by Chad Valley in the 1950s. Some of the plush fur has been worn away in what is a traditional sign of a much loved companion. Chad Valley started in 1897 and originally manufactured stationery and paper based games. By the 1950s it had become a large company employing almost 1,000 people in Harborne, Birmingham. This teddy bear was collected as part of the Millennibrum collecting initiative, looking at Birmingham life through objects from 1950-2000. | |
