Notes | This silver comb fashioned in the shape of an Antique or Eastern crown. The firm originally made cut steel items. This piece shows visually, in both its design and construction, how the company evolved into one creating silverwork. The textured mesh and the studs, in particular, resemble the textures and light-catching qualities of cut steel. | | Presented by the Friends of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery with aid from the Resource/ V&A; Purchase Fund. |
