Notes | There are fifteen surviving figure studies for 'Found', Rossetti's only work on a contemporary 'moral' subject. Birmingham's collection has two drawings of the woman's head (one of them drawn from Fanny Cornforth) and three of the man's. This particular study is possibly drawn from Frederic George Stephens (1828-1907), one of the original members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. | | Purchased and presented by subscribers, 1903. |
