Notes

An unfinished proof with interesting working notes that has been attributed to Burne-Jones, and must therefore date to sometime shortly before his death in 1898. The completed etching was finally published in 1899. The oil on canvas upon which this etching is based is in the Victoria and Albert Museum and dated to 1870-82.
