From a bound volume containing 86 studies for illustrations to 'The Story of Cupid and Psyche' made to accompany the poem in William Morris' 'The Earthly Paradise'.

The study of the interior seems to be the same as in the wood engraving as are the figures of Psyche and Cerberus. These drawings are reversed from the prints.
