A study for the headpiece of 'The Ballad of Oriana' by Tennyson, probably executed during Hunt's trip to the Near East and, as stated by Brockhurst, may be connected with the depiction of the hindquarters of a camel in his later drawings of ' Rebekah at the Well' (1863) .
