Notes

Frank Taylor Lockwood did not have to go far to find a suitable subject to sketch or paint as he frequently produced images of where he lived. His watercolours of municipal houses and suburban gardens are an interesting contrast to his watercolours of farms, cottages and fields. This view of the back of Yardley Road is drawn from his house, 15 Dalston Road. The house in the centre appears in many sketch books and is also mentioned in his diaries.

Presented by Arthur Lockwood and Jean Barnsby.
