Notes | Frank Taylor Lockwood did not have to go far to find a suitable subject to sketch or paint as he frequently produced images of where he lived. His watercolours of municipal houses and suburban gardens are an interesting contrast to his watercolours of farms, cottages and fields.Monday 25th December 1930'Rumours have been about that there was to be a cinema built in Acocks Green - on the Yardley Road - on a site occupied by a large private house which has been empty for a long time. The situation of this was in a line from our back garden and would spoil our view of course. And now, in tonight's B'ham Mail is the news that in spite of opposition the application to build has been granted. - Provided certain conditions were observed and that the work was begun before April 2oth. It was stated that the seating would be 1458 -978 on the ground floor and 480 upstairs'.WAS THIS THE HOUSE WHERE THE 'BECKETTS' WERE TO LIVE? NEXT DOOR? NO 111 YARDLEY ROAD? AL.
