Biography for Malcolm Sutcliffe
EducationMalcolm Sutcliffe (b. 1954) graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic (now University of Central England)and in 1977 was awarded a two year West Midlands Arts Fellowship. EmploymentIn the same year he set up his first studio at the Winygates Craft Centre, Redditch which he ran until 1981. Sutcliffe then spent a the next few years at a glass studio in Cambridge, before moving to CHesterfield and setting up a studio with two other glass blowers. He has taught at Stourbridge College of Art & Technology and Bristol Polytechnic (now University of the West of England). Sutcliffe is currently based in Cornwall and works making hand blown glass with his wife Jean. He has exhibited his work widely in the United Kingdom.
