Biography for Thomas Halliday
EmploymentHalliday originally worked as an engraver at Matthew Boulton's Soho Mint in Handsworth. Set up on his own as a medallist and token-producer from 1801. Established in Newhall Street, Birmingham between about 1810 and 1842. He engraved dies for the trade, or engraved and manufactured tokens and medals at his own works for all traders who wished to issue them.
