Biography for Barrie Cook
EducationCook studied at the College of Arts and Crafts, Birmingham from 1949-54. He taught in secondary schools and then at Coventry College of Art from 1961-9. EmploymentHead of the Fine Art Department at Stourbridge College of Art from 1969-74; senior fellow in fine art, painting, at Cardiff College of Art from 1974-9; Gregynog Fellow, University of Wales 1977-8 and then Head of Fine Art at Birmingham Polytechnic from 1979-83. He was Artist-in-Residence at Fishgard Arts Festival in 1984 and at the National Museum and Art Gallery, Cardiff where he had his studio base. In 1992 he moved to Cornwall.
